Maybe

maybe hearts are simply made of
ventricles, arteries
so maybe we don't need to try so hard
simply to please

maybe love is simply made of
chemicals and songs
so maybe if we'd look around
we'd realize we were wrong

maybe hope is simply made of
misconceptions, lies
so maybe you'd discover more
by looking in my eyes

maybe hate is simply made of
enemies and fears
so maybe we'll forgive, forget
not waste away for years

maybe life is simply made of
politics and games
but i have found by living life
that life is not the same.

Sarah's Face

A while back i was at the library, and a book caught my eye. On the cover was simply a picture of a girl's face. The title of the book was "Sarah's Face". Little did i know what i was getting myself into.

Back at my house, i threw a huge stack of books on the floor, and opened "Sarah's Face". As i became immersed in the book, i lost all track of time...

Sarah is a teenage girl who strives to be different. she would do absolutely anything to change her looks. Part of the problem is that she practically worships a pop star, and he always wears a mask. He discovers her when she is in the hospital, because she hurts herself, and she was hospitalized for burns from an iron on her face. He offers to take her in, and give her whatever plastic surgery she wants. Without asking her mother, she accepts. Soon she realizes that her hero is not exactly what she thought... and the reason for his mask wearing. now sarah has to escape the horrible future that awaits if she trusts him. is sarah willing to pay the price of fame? and will she escape with her face, or her life?

As the hours passed, and the book got better and better, i was afraid to put it down, for fear that i would stop right before something important happened. this book is a real page turner, and i suggest reading it... if you aren't squeamish.
